Customizing the display
All these settings are available in the View menu (organized into cascading submenus opened on hover or with the → key) and in the command palette (Ctrl+Shift+P). CapyCode remembers them in your browser.
Light or dark theme
The moon or sun button, at the top right, switches between the light and the dark theme (View › Theme). On first launch, CapyCode follows your system setting.
Font
View › Font Family: the system font, Roboto or Arial. Each comes with its monospace font for the code.
Interface language
CapyCode speaks English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Russian and Ukrainian. Change the language with View › Language, or by clicking the language code (EN) on the right of the status bar.
On first launch, CapyCode uses the browser language. A link can also set it with ?lang=: …/p/capycode/?lang=en.
Translations
Apart from English and French, the translations are automatic and being reviewed. Python error messages stay in English, as everywhere.
Arranging the screen
| I want… | How |
|---|---|
| More room for the code | Collapse the bottom panel: Ctrl+J (View › Bottom Panel) |
| Two files side by side | Ctrl+\ (View › Split Editor Right) |
| To change the width of the side panel, the height of the panel | Drag their border |
| To hide the side panel | Click the already active icon of the activity bar |
| The whole screen for CapyCode | F11 or the full screen button at the top right (View › Toggle Full Screen) |
| To see hidden files | View › Show Hidden Files |
Each border can also be adjusted with the keyboard: give it focus with Tab, then use the arrow keys; Enter restores the default size. With the mouse, a double click on the border restores it (or collapses the bottom panel).
